Welcome to Our Human Retrograde!

One of the most common things I have been hearing from clients, students and friends since 2020 is how they lack direction. There have been many different versions of this, from, “I always knew what direction I wanted to take on my life path, but now, I don’t have a clue!” or “I feel like I am in a holding pattern!” or “I just wish I knew my next step!”

If you have been feeling this way too, believe me, you are NOT alone. I personally started feeling this in 2018 after some major life upheavals, and it can be a very unsettling feeling; especially if you are someone who has always been goal oriented. Many of us can’t seem to decide where to live, how to direct our careers, who we wish to be with, or even what we wish to do with our time. So here we sit, spending our days deciding NOT to decide!

Perhaps it was the down time from the pandemic that made people start to question their existence with deeper insight, or just a sign of these tumultuous times, but one thing is certain, people are feeling unsure about the future.

We are changing as a species. The vibration of the planet is not what it was 20 years ago, so of course the human race is effected. However, the uncertainty doesn’t need to be a bad thing. This human evolution is actually bringing with it major positive changes, as we finally begin to understand as a species, that what one of us does, effects us all. Why even the theory of Quantum Entanglement demonstrates that “when two particles come into contact, if one’s direction is changed, so too will the other” (Barbón, LR).

Yet, how can we handle these feelings of uncertainty when the human brain craves for constant understanding?

**Rest!
This seems counterproductive, but sometimes when we don’t know what’s next, it’s the Universe giving us a gentle reprieve, to relax and just enjoy the lack of movement for a time, so we can regenerate our energies for the next steps that will inevitably be coming.

**Practice the law of non attachment.
When we attach our mind sets to certain people or situational outcomes, we invite in suffering, so by settling into the “not knowing” or “not having an agenda” can be a great practice for us.

**Have Faith!
Look at this time with a bit of an attitude adjustment, where we learn to be comfortable in being uncomfortable. Relax into it with the knowledge that there are things going on behind the scenes that we as humans are not privy to. Learn to have faith that the unseen world has our back; it has seen things we have not and knows far more than we do.

Remember that most things in life appear to stop or slow down before they are thrust forward with a fast moving momentum. Whether a planetary retrograde, a rocket launch or a pole vaulter, sometimes the holding pattern is needed to take us the extra mile. Enjoy the ride and stop over thinking, all will be as it is meant!

Very insightful…at 67, you’d think that a retiree would not be wondering about the future but here I sit, anxious and about my next path. It may sound selfish, but there is some comfort knowing others are going through the same thing 🙄. For what it’s worth, when I ask for guidance, I get the same feeling…..have patience and rest for now, it will all work out. It’s easier said than done, especially if you’re not sure if you’re giving yourself a message or if you’re getting some help. Nonetheless, it’s nice to hear it from a real person for sure. Thx for a good post!

Wonderful insight. It’s as if you’re reading my mind. I’m so thankful to have you in my life. I will take this with me.

    Thank you!
