Ways To Work With Our Spirit Guides

(YES, they ARE Real!)

I often remind my students and clients that they are never alone. We have spirit guides who walk with us every day, lovingly offering support, direction, and sometimes a little cosmic kick in the butt when we need it. Yet, due to our free will, we must ask for their help. It doesn’t matter if we know them by name or are just addressing them as a collective, they want to help us!

Over the years, regardless of what I am going through, I have come to rely on my guides in practical daily ways. Here are some suggestions others may find helpful:

1. Ask for Help

We don’t need fancy rituals or perfect words, just a heartfelt request for help. Since our guides respect free will, we have to invite them to step in. So whether it’s finding parking, career direction, or romance, ask!

Recently before a mediumship event when I was dealing with some personal challenges that were causing me to feel drained and scattered, I literally said out loud, “Guys, I need help, my brain is all over the place!” Within minutes, I felt this warm wave come over me, and just like that, I felt centered, calm, and ready. That night, the messages came through loud and clear and it was an outstanding event. Over the years I have learned our guides are always listening and ready to help.

 2. Get Quiet So You Can Hear Them

Our guides often speak through our intuition, yet when our minds are racing, we can not hear their messages.

I have made it a habit to start each day with a few moments of stillness, even if I am just sitting with my coffee, closing my eyes, and breathing. Some of my most profound insights come in those quiet early mornings. This stillness opens the channel and allows us to hear what is being said.

 3. Look for Signs

Spirit guides love signs and often use whatever they can; whether numbers, animals, music, or billboards, they will use anything to get our attention.

Recently while struggling over a romantic relationship and asked my guides for a sign to help me understand what direction was best for me. I said, “If I’m meant to go forward with this, show me a white feather.” That afternoon, I walked into my backyard, and there, floating down from the sky, was a perfect white feather. I just laughed. They don’t always come that clearly, but when they do, it’s magic.

4. Act on the Nudges

Our guides will send us gut feelings and intuitive nudges, but the relationship deepens when we learn to act on them.

I can not tell you how many times I have followed a weird feeling to check on a friend or say something “random” to a client, and it turned out to be exactly what was needed. This work has taught me that those nudges are never random. It’s about trust. Our guides are always one step ahead, gently steering us in a way that is for our highest good.

5. Make It Personal

I talk to my guides like friends. I thank them, ask them questions, even roll my eyes when I know they have just taught me a hard lesson. After doing this for so many years, I honestly never feel lonely. There is always a supportive and loving group of beings who have my back at all times.

We all have a team in Spirit who knows our soul’s mission, sees our heart, and wants to help us live a more aligned, joyful life. We do not have to do it all alone and they are not just for the “woo-woo” moments! They are with us in traffic, at the grocery store, and even when we are staring at the ceiling at 3 a.m.

So invite them in, talk to them and trust the process. We are never alone. Ever.
